MyErgonomics.net Mission
The Myergonomics.net program is individually
designed for the employee.
Our goal
is to provide the education that each employee needs in order
to feel better at
the end of each day.
Our hope is whether they go
through the program for
prevention or because of existing pain they
leave with the tools, the
information, and the sense of responsibility
needed to feel good and be
productive.

Program
The Class
Employees are invited to attend an
ergonomics class; this class is limited to 30 employees and is offered on a
voluntary basis.
- The
class education includes:
- How
to manipulate their workspace (at home or in the office) to better fit
their body type.
- How
to properly use the tools they have (whether that be learning how the
chair adjusts, how their monitor should be positioned or even how to
properly start the lawn mower) in order to reduce exposure to potential
injury.
- How
to utilize task specific stretching to reduce or eliminate any damage or
micro-injury that might have occurred while performing daily activities.
- Most
importantly, the full understanding that no matter how perfect any program
or environment may be, the ultimate responsibility lay with them to take
care of them selves.
Individual Ergonomic
Assessments
In office assessments are provided for each
employee who attended the class and others by special request.
These assessments combine the improvements the employee made on their own
with our recommendations to establish an ergonomically sound work space.
The work space is arranged around the employee’s specific body type
addressing any pain or discomfort they may be experiencing.
Follow-up
- Follow-up
Assessments: These are performed
in situations where any pain or discomfort identified in the first
assessment has not resolved. These
are situations that, without intervention, have a remarkable potential to
regress rapidly. Follow-up
Assessments are continued until resolution is demonstrated.
- Follow-up
Reports: In situations where
significant and timely progress towards resolution is not apparent, a report
to human resources is immediately filed.
- Note:
There may be situations where, after the first assessment, an
immediate Follow-Up Report is necessary, bypassing the Follow-Up
Assessment process.
Access
A direct line of trust and communication has
been established between the employee, myergonomics.net and the employer
allowing access to beneficial information for all.
Result –A
commonly beneficial culture
Benefit
to Employee
Employees feel better and have confidence in
their own abilities to regulate their environment.
They also have the assurance that if ever they have any concerns they
have someone there to help them.
Benefit to Employer
The employer now has an employee base that
is actively:
- Eliminating
the possibility of an injury, by taking care of their environment and them
selves, because now they know how.
- Bringing
to our awareness an injury, in its very early stages, that can be easily
reversed and resolved through our program. Essentially, while the employee
thinks they are just getting rid of that achy forearm; we have just
prevented a potential claim.
- Getting
better faster. By eliminating
the source of the injury in an advanced stage; we can decrease time off work
and the number and frequency of medical office visits, all while increasing
the rate of recovery and employee morale.
